What Find Your Fit Is
Find Your Fit is a focused school-fit consultation built around your child’s full profile. Our psychologists synthesize what is working at school, what is not, and what kind of placement, accommodations, or supports fit best. The result is a written roadmap your family can use with current teachers, future schools, and any clinicians on the team.
This service is part of our broader work in psychological testing and psychoeducational assessment. Find Your Fit can stand alone, or it can follow a full evaluation when families want help acting on the results.
Who Find Your Fit Is For
- Families choosing between public, private, charter, magnet, and home-school options in the Sarasota and Venice area
- Students with ADHD or learning disorders who need a school-fit plan that matches their cognitive and emotional profile
- Gifted and twice-exceptional students whose academic strengths and learning differences both deserve a plan: see our support for gifted and 2e individuals
- Families preparing for IEP, 504, or independent school admissions meetings who want a psychologist’s written analysis in hand
- Parents who suspect the current placement is wrong but are not sure what the right one looks like
How the Consultation Works
Step 1: Brief intake
You share your child’s history, current school setting, any prior testing, and what is prompting this conversation. We review report cards, IEP or 504 documents, and any outside reports.
Step 2: Synthesis session
One of our doctoral psychologists meets with parents (and the student when appropriate) for a working session at our Sarasota or Venice office, or by telehealth across PSYPACT-authorized states. We talk through cognitive style, social fit, executive functioning, and what specific environments tend to bring out the student’s best work.
Step 3: Written roadmap
You receive a written summary with our school-fit criteria, specific questions to ask any school under consideration, and a list of accommodations or supports we recommend pursuing in writing with the school.
Step 4: Follow-up support
If a full psychological evaluation is the right next step, we explain why and how. If parent coaching or therapy is the right next step, we explain that too. The consultation is bounded, but the door stays open for whatever care comes next.
What You Receive
- A written school-fit roadmap usable in IEP, 504, and admissions meetings
- Specific questions to ask schools, written by a licensed psychologist
- Clear recommendations on accommodations, support services, or further testing
- Referrals if Davenport Psychology is not the right fit, so no consultation is wasted
- Optional follow-up booking for assessment, therapy, or parent coaching

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Find Your Fit consultation the same as a full psychological evaluation?
No. A full psychological or psychoeducational evaluation includes standardized testing across cognitive, academic, social, and emotional domains. Find Your Fit is a focused planning conversation built on what is already known about your child. When new testing is needed to answer the school-fit question, our psychologists recommend it and explain the scope.
Do you recommend specific private schools in Sarasota?
Our psychologists do not endorse individual schools. We supply you with the school-fit criteria, the questions to ask, and a framework for evaluating any setting on its own merits. You bring back what you learn, and we help you weigh the choices.
How does the consultation help with IEP or 504 planning?
The written roadmap is built for school meetings. Families bring it to IEP and 504 conversations. The document lists the specific accommodations, supports, or services our psychologists recommend, with reasoning a school team can act on.
Do you work with gifted and twice-exceptional students?
Yes. Our practice has built deep experience with gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) profiles, including students whose giftedness and learning differences coexist. School-fit planning is one of the areas where 2e students benefit most.
Is the consultation available by telehealth?
Yes. Charles R. Davenport, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist, and our team see patients in person at the Sarasota office and the Venice office, and by telehealth across PSYPACT-authorized states.
What does the consultation cost?
The free 15-minute call is no-cost. Pricing for the full Find Your Fit consultation depends on whether prior testing exists and how much new analysis is needed. Our office shares pricing during the free intro call so families can plan with clarity.
